Cursor is a pointer that is declared outside the container/ aggregate object. Basically cursor is a pointer device, which points to an element. We use cursor in contiguous sequence like c++ arrays where elements are placed at consecutive memory location. As cursors are external pointers so the main benefit of cursors are that we can do any kind of traversal in any way.
Difference between pointers and cursors:
Cursors are the external pointers, while simple pointers may be internal or external.
Cursors requires some basic methods for traversing some memory location, these methods are first (), beyond (), next (), while there is no need of these methods in pointers.
